Alternate Delivery Methods for State Projects Legislation
Goes to the Governor for Signature
A Senate bill allowing the State to use alternate delivery methods for projects has been passed by both the Senate and the House and been ratified this week by both bodies and is now on the Governor’s desk for signature or veto.
This bill gave the State some latitude in projects beyond the traditional design-bid-build method. This legislation allows state agencies and others under the purview of the State Procurement Code to entertain design-build, construction manager at risk, design-build-finance, design-build-operate and others.
This legislation was the result of a couple years of work the engineering, architectural, construction industries and the State Budget and Control Board to craft this legislation that worked for all parties involved in the construction of State facilities. |
