SC Civil Justice Coalition Runs Ad on
Workers Compensation Commission

The SC Civil Justice Coalition is running an ad in The State newspaper Tuesday, March 4 to remind the SC General Assembly, especially the SC Senate to approve Governor Sanford’s appointments to the SC Workers Compensation Commission for those commissioners whose terms have expired.

The SC Senate must approve the Governor’s appointments to the WC Commission before they can be seated. One of the reasons for approving these appointments is that South Carolina’s drop in workers compensation premiums. In 2004 SC ranked tenth, meaning the state’s worker’s compensation premiums were among the lowest in the country; now in only three years SC’s premiums have increased so much that the state ranks forty-fourth in the nation.

SCCJC also supports the Governor appointing a new WC Commission chair.

Click here to see the ad, and call your senator and ask for the Senate to take up Workers Compensation Commissioner appointments.
