Southern Zone Vice President

Local South Carolina engineer Gene L. Dinkins P.E., P.L.S, has been commissioned Southern Zone vice president of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying at its annual meeting.  This commission also gives Dinkins a seat on the NCEES board of Directors from 2007 -2009.

Dinkins, of Columbia SC, has been an active member in his profession and his community for years.  Dinkins is currently vice Chair of the South Carolina State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors.  He is a member of the South Carolina Society of Professional Engineers, and was a member of the NCEES Advisory Committee on Council Activities from 2005-2007.  Dinkins is a member of various other Engineering and Surveying societies and remains very active in his profession.

Dinkins is president of Cox and Dinkins, Inc. a land surveying and civil engineering firm.  He has been called on by both the USC School of Law and the College of Engineering to lecture to their students about his areas of expertise.
