New Engineer Ceremony Held at State House

SCSPE again sponsored its New Engineer Ceremony at the State House, Thursday, Jan. 17. Of the 89 engineers that passed the PE exam in October, twenty engineers and surveyors, their families and their employers came to the ceremony celebrating their professional status.

In addition to the engineers, three surveyors received their registration certificates at the ceremony.

SC State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors, Chair, M. L. Love, PE presented the certificates while Vice Chair Gene Dinkins, PE, PLS and Board Secretary, Andy Kinghorn, PE also participated in the ceremony. SCSPE President Michael H. Hanna, PE, congratulated the new engineers and encouraged them to uphold the high ethics of the professional.

Following the ceremony at the State House, SCSPE honored the new registrants at a reception at the Palmetto Club. About 70 delighted family, employers and new engineers and surveyors joined the SCSPE Board of Directors in this informal setting to talk about engineering and SCSPE.
