ACEC-SC Members Nominated for
Engineering and Surveying Registration Board
With two open spots on the registration board, the engineering community provided nominations to send to the Governor. ACEC-SC and SCSPE announced vacancies at the annual meeting in June, and had several people submit their resumes.
Theresa H. Hodge, PE and Chuck M. Joye II, PE where selected to by the SC Council of Engineering and Surveyors Societies along with Craig Helms, PE and Steve Czernak, PE to be nominated for these two seats. ACEC-SC nominated Theresa Hodge and Chuck Joye to the Council.
Theresa Hodge, of Columbia, is currently the Director of Utilities with Civil Engineering Consulting Services. Hodge has been an active member with NSPE for 20 years and served as the first woman president of SCSPE. She was honored by her peers in 2006 when she was given the Engineer of the Year award.
Charles M. “Chuck” Joye II was also nominated to become a member of the registration board. Joye, a civil engineer, has 35 years of experience in the engineering field, and is a founding principal of Design South Professional in Anderson, SC. Joye has been an active member of both ACEC-SC and SCSPE. Joye was the 2002 SCSPE Engineer of the Year and the recipient of the ACEC-SC Service to the Profession award in 1995. He is a model citizen who is a community leader, church leader, and professional engineer.
Both Hodge and Joye would make great additions to the registration board. Both are dedicated to the advancement of their profession, and are hard workers.
