Two Registration Board Members
Did Not Seek Reappointment

A story in the January ACEC-SC and SCSPE newsletters said the Governor and re-appointed six of the members of the SC Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors, and Mitchell Tibshrany and Gaye Sprague were not reappointed.

This statement needs amplification, and I regret any misunderstanding this story might have caused. 

Mr. Tibshrany and Ms. Sprague had indicated to a number of people that they were not seeking reappointment. In fact, Mr. Tibshrany had written Governor Sanford months ago requesting to be replaced. Additionally, neither Mr. Tibshrany nor Ms. Sprague sought the SC Council of Engineering and Surveying Societies recommendations to the Governor, another indication they were not seeking another term.

Further, the reappointment of the six other Registration Board members was to ensure there was continuity of experience on the Board. The Registration board expects those new members appointed by the Governor for partial terms to be reappointed for second terms.
