SCDOT Gets Three New Commissioners

The three SCDOT commission seats that were expiring have been filled.

The First District seat was filled by Mr. Danny Isaac from Myrtle Beach . He replaces Mr. Joe Young who was the Commission’s Vice Chair.  Mr. Young did not offer for another term.  Mr. Isaac was chosen over Mr. Den Willingham of Mt. Pleasant who is an engineering graduate of The Citadel.

The Third District’s new commissioner is Mr. Charles Dalton of Pickens.  He replaces Mr. Marion Carnell of Ware Shoals. Mr. Carnell did not wish to serve another term.  Mr. Dalton had previously served on the SCDOT Commission and as its chair. SCSPE’s Mr. L.G. (Skip) Lewis, Jr. PE, FNSPE, offered for this position as well. 

The Fifth District Delegation chose Ms. Sara Nuckles of Rock Hill to replace Mr. Bobby Jones of Camden on the SCDOT Commission.

In a conference call, the SCDOT Commission accepted Mr. Young’s resignation as Vice Chair and elected Mr. Hugh Atkins from Spartanburg to the position.  Mr. Atkins’ term on the commission expires in 2010.
