SCFOR is Working for Funding for Roads

Lobbyists who serve on the South Carolina Alliance to Fix Our Roads (SCFOR) have begun actively working the General Assembly to seek funding for the state’s roads.

A recent TRIP report from a national organization highlighted the need for road maintenance, repair and new construction for the safety of our citizens.

Currently there are four bills, three in the Senate and one in the House that deal with road and highway funding. SCFOR is not advocating any one bill at this time, but it is advocating the General Assembly find money this year and to establish some mechanism for reoccurring funds in the future.

About half a dozen lobbyists are attempting to speak to every State Senator next week to let them know how serious road funding is for the health, safety and economic well-being of the state.
