Following the SC State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors’ meeting, the Council hosted the Registration Board and the Deans of Engineering and Technology at the Palmetto Club in Columbia.

State Engineer Calls Meeting to Review Procurement Process
John White, PE, State Engineer, has called two meetings with Engineers, Architects, Contractors and representatives from state agencies to review the Office of the State Engineer’s procurement processes in an effort to streamline them and make them work better.

SCFOR is Working For Funding for Roads

USC Geography Department Proceeding Toward Offering
Land Surveying Minor
Surveyors seeking registration after 2010 must have a four-year degree to become licensed. Now, none of the South Carolina colleges offer four-year programs that include surveying with enough credit hours to satisfy state law.
State Approves Methodology to Allow Health Care Program for Associations
Senate Bill 588 was ratified February 13, 2008. This bill concerning health care for small employers was introduced in March of last year.
